Introduction
This web page was designed by students for students who wish to learn about Minnesota's history. Included in this page is information about the indigenous people of Minnesota, how they were affected by the colonization by the Europeans, the fur trade, early explorers, the causes of rapid settlement in the 19th century, the Dakota conflict, and Minnesota's role in the civil war.
I think this site will be especially useful for students attending charter schools in Minnesota, as it is part of a project designed specifically to meet the Minnesota History standards. That is not to say, however, that you will not find this web site to be useful and informative if you attend a school that goes by a normal curriculum.
